Kogi Newspaper Gets New Chief as Ododo Shakes Up Graphics

In a major shakeup, Kogi State Governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has appointed Mr. Y.J Itopa as the new Managing Director and CEO of the state-owned Graphics Newspaper.

The announcement was made by the Head of Service, Mr. Elijah Evinemi, who urged the new chief to hit the ground running and reposition the ailing publication.

“The media is crucial for reporting the government’s programs and policies,” Evinemi said. “The Graphics Newspaper must be turned around to fulfill this mandate,” the Head of Service noted.

Also speaking, the former NUJ Chairman in the state Comr. Adeiza Momohjimoh, expressed confidence in Y.J Itopa’s ability to justify the appointment, calling on the state government to provide the necessary support.

Accepting the challenge, Mr. Y.J Itopa, who previously worked at the Graphics for 12 years, promised not to let down the Ododo administration.

“This is a homecoming for me,” Y.J Itopa said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity and will work tirelessly to revive the newspaper.”

With the shakeup, the Graphics Newspaper now has a seasoned hand at the helm, raising hopes of a much-needed turnaround for the state-owned media outlet.
