Emirship Tussle: Kano Deputy Governor Apologizes To Ribadu, Pulls out Claims
Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo, has withdrawn his articulation denouncing the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, of meddling in the Kano emirate tussle.
At a public interview late Sunday, the deputy governor apologized to the NSA, saying he was off track to have offered his underlying expression.
“The Office of the National Security Adviser has discredited the charges and limited any association with what we have asserted. I have seen it, he has done it through three media, and today, I have seen the one about going to court,” Gwarzo said.
“We need to recognize that we have been deluded into accepting that the NSA was behind the happenings along this line.
“We apologize to the National Security Adviser, his individual and office for any embarrassment and inconveniences this could have caused him
“We are human and can blunder whenever. For my benefit and the Governor of Kano State, I want to assure the NSA of our continued support and cooperation in his obligation as the NSA,” he expressed.
The NSA Office had denied claims that Ribadu worked with the arrival of the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, to the old city on Saturday, as opposed to the charge by the deputy governor that the NSA worked with the arrival of the ousted emir.
The deputy governor had said the law was sure about the interaction for the crowning ceremony of an emir and that “nobody has any privilege to meddle or implement anybody on Kano people”.
He had blamed Ribadu for “utilizing security” to scare individuals of the state.
Nonetheless, the NSA said he didn’t give the airplane that returned Ado Bayero to the state and took steps to sue the deputy governor for slander.
Ado Bayero got back to the state from the get-go Saturday, about 48 hours after he was deposed by Governor Abba Kabir and supplanted with Muhammadu Sanusi II.
